My Approach to Lesson Planning
Some lessons are far easier to plan than others. When it comes down to it, though, a lesson is best planned with careful deliberation and thought. There are steps to follow before and during the lesson planning process, as well as self-assessment to be done afterward.
Processes used when planning lessons
-
Determine students' prior knowledge.
-
Find an interesting way to grab students' attention.
-
Decide upon the sequence of instruction.
-
Provide examples which reflect students' current level.
-
Formulate questions which will promote higher thinking and challenge students with discouraging them.
-
Design a method of assessment.
-
Design an activity for students who finish early.
