Introduction

This is a Conversation English Course. We will communicate in English. If we do this in every class, our speaking skills will improve, and we will get good grades. All we have to do is to participate.

Textbook

Instead of using a textbook, we work with handouts, lectures, and student presentations.

Class Website

The class website is an integral part of this course, containing the calendar of assignments, the class voice discussion board and many class handouts and resources. If you don't already have a Schoology account, go to https://app.schoology.com/register.php and click Student. The Access Code is QNPQF-5Q872

Course Outcomes

Demonstrate interaction skills such as negotiating, repairing, opening and closing conversations.

Build and utilize formal and informal vocabulary, including figurative language and idiomatic usage of English.

Active Participation is very important because this is an oral skills class. You need to be in class to improve your speaking skills and to contribute to class discussions. Full participation is essential to your success in this course. You must take the initiative to speak without being called on.

Attendance: Poor attendance will affect your course grade.
